Hednesford are through to the next round of the Staffordshire Senior Cup, after a last gasp comeback victory over Newcastle Town.
The Evo-Stik Premier Division outfit appeared to be heading out with 15 minutes left after going 2-0 down, but two quickfire strikes drew the game level before Andre Landell struck the winner in the final minute.
Newcastle took the lead on 37 minutes as Kyle Diskin’s corner from the left was met by a looping header from Andy Nicholls from six yards.
They doubled their lead on with just over 15 minutes left as Will Ryder’s corner from the right was headed home at the near post by Adam Bailey.
The visitors, who had rarely threatened in the second period were handed a lifeline on 78 minutes as James Askey turned Kyle Haynes tame cross into his own net.
Hednesford then began to dominate proceedings with James Osborne having a shot cleared off the line by the atoning Askey.
They drew level just three minutes later as Osborne’s ball over the top found Mark Danks, who slammed the ball home from inside box via the underside of the bar.
The comeback was complete in the final minute as Haynes found Landell who struck a powerful low drive beyond Newcastle keeper Dave Parton from just inside the box.
Hednesford will play Stoke City in the next round.
