Stone Dominoes gave a good accounts of themselves, despite slipping to a second successive home defeat at the hands of league leaders Bootle.
After a competitive first half Dominoes took the lead right on half time. Dean Smith was the provider as he crossed for James Curley after a mazy run down the right wing.
Bootle were level almost immediately as Mark Kilroy’s cross from the right, was headed back across goal and into the far corner by Neil Prince.
The visitors took the lead ten minutes into the second half, as another Kilroy cross from the right was headed home by James Robinson.
Dominoes remained competitive, and drew level on 71 minutes as Steve Allen’s cross from the right was controlled then slotted into the net by Ashley Miller.
Bootle almost restored their lead soon after, as Lee Thompson 20 yard drive came back off the foot of the post.
The visitors scored what proved to be the winner with two minutes left, as Prince’s freekick from the left wasn’t cleared and Josh Essery smashed the ball high into the net from close range.
Thomas Foley almost rubberstamped the win in stoppage time, but he blazed wildly over the bar when well placed.
