Shepshed Dynamo climbed off the foot of table, after a late Steve Chaplin strike gave them victory at Newcastle Town.
The game appeared to be heading for a stalemate, before Chaplin headed home Zeke Jenkins’ cross.
Newcastle created the better chances in the first 20 minutes, with Will Ryder, Curtis Price and Darren Chadwick all going close.
Jamie Haynes was inches away from giving Town the lead on 25 minutes, as he sent a curling freekick narrowly wide.
Harry Clayton was also inches away from giving the home side the lead early in the second half, as he skipped away from David Boafo but curled his shot inches wide of the post.
Shepshed went close themselves on 70 minutes, as Ryan North’s powerful long range drive was deflected wide by Alex Hutchinson.
The visitors were growing in confidence and took the lead with 11 minutes, as Jenkins’ inviting centre was nodded home by Chaplin from six yards beyond keeper Ben Chapman.
Leon Ashman almost responded for Newcastle on 83 minutes, but he lobbed over the bar after being played in by Andy Bratt.
The win lifts Shepshed to 21st, coupled with Quorn’s 8-0 thrashing by Carlton Town, while Newcastle are 14th.
