After a lot of teasing the first full trailer for Jurassic World will premiere this Friday.
The third sequel to Spielberg’s masterpiece will hit cinemas next June, with Safety Not Guaranteed Director Colin Trevorrow given the task of re-invigorating the franchise after what will be a 14 year gap since the disappointing Jurassic Park III.
Universal Pictures today have released this teaser for the trailer which we’re sure points to the calm before the storm.
What has been mentioned is that we will see a new dinosaur dubbed the D-Rex, which will be a genetic mashup of a T-Rex, Velociraptor and a snake, and will most likely pose as the main threat to the now fully operational park.
Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will assume the male lead of the piece and is believed to be a scientist working very closely with the raptors.
Here’s an image that has leaked of the lego version of the ‘D-Rex’ –
So for now we will wait to see what Friday’s trailer brings; and more importantly for Universal whether the Jurassic Park franchise can compete with heavy hitters such as Avengers: Age of Ultron next summer.
Jurassic World opens in June 2015.
