Every Star Wars Needs An Emperor, Right?

sidious-2

So Star Wars rumour of the week is that an inside source claims there may be life after apparent death of Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious in Star Wars Episode VII.

The Emperor was of course vanquished at the end of Return of the Jedi, and the Empire desolved to usher in a new era of peace….or so we thought.

British actor Ian McDiarmid, who portrayed the character in The Empire Strikes Back, Jedi and the three prequels is said to be warm to the idea of reprising the role once more.

As quite possibly the best thing about the prequel series, it would be interesting to see how The Emperor would feature in this new trilogy starting with JJ Abrams’ Episode VII in 2015.

Would it be the real thing? A clone perhaps or a full resurrection, which have both featured in the expanded universe which is said to be part of the source material being used for the scripts.

We shall wait and see, but I certainly hope we can The Emperor return once more, the real villain of the entire Star Wars universe.
